About

Renee Zawawi is an American singer, songwriter, photographer, filmmaker, and lead vocalist. She
earned a dual degree in visual and performing arts with concentrations in photography and motion picture. Zawawi gained recognition through her original songs “Mom,” a tribute to her late mother,  “Papa,” a nod to her father, and “Happy
Hour,” which playfully highlighted her band’s success. These three hits became popular in the independent music scene and helped establish her signature Millennial Pop sound.

In addition to music, Zawawi has worked as a filmmaker and photographer. Her projects include the documentary Legends and the short film One Time in Italy. She has also produced her own music
videos and built a career that combines visual art, photography, film, and music.

Before launching her music career, Zawawi Renee produced her famous 17- Month calendar featuring her in many different fashions and colorful
hairstyles. She earned the title of Miss Pennsylvania and went on to receive multiple awards and recognitions.

Paul Zimmerman from NBC News remarked: “Without a doubt, Renee has an amazing past and a fascinating story to tell.

Her song “ American Girl” makes it obvious that we could have a true diva in the market here! Renee Zawawi's voice is smooth and sassy, shaking her hips across a series of danceable world beats. A sharp example of what dance music can be when it
showcases a talented vocalist."
Renee is multilingual, has traveled extensively-
and has pitched in to support charitable concerts for children affected by war, violence, and natural disasters.

Much of Zawawi's work has been shaped by personal tragedies. Following the deaths of both her mother and father, she turned to music and the arts as a means of expression, writing songs and scripts that
explore grief, transformation, family, and resilience.

Princess Diana and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy were two of the 1990s' most famously photographed women. Their lives intersected at the 1997 funeral of Gianni Versace, where Bessette sat directly behind Diana. Diana's tragic death deeply shook Bessette, heightening her own terror of the paparazzi.

The Spotlight: Both women were tall, blonde fashion icons who married into deeply famous families (Diana into the British Royal Family, and Carolyn into American political royalty by marrying John F. Kennedy Jr.)

Relentless Paparazzi: Both struggled with the aggressive tabloid culture of the 1990s. Before her own death, Bessette had confided in friends about being chased by a "wolf pack" of photographers.
